Welcome to Color Me Green, about my slow food eco-friendly life in Brooklyn. I see this blog as a place to chronicle my interests and adventures in food and life, as well as to share my journey to lower my environmental impact and live fully with intention.

I began blogging in 2007 under the name "The Wounded Chef" with the intention to simply store recipes while I learned the joys of cooking. In the eight years since then, this blog has grown to be much more than that. My recipe archive now includes more than 150 original recipes with a focus on cooking locally grown, unprocessed foods from scratch. In 2009, I changed the blog name to "Color Me Green" when I got bored of writing only about food and started incorporating other parts of my life. While most of the posts are still focused on cooking, you can also read here about bikingDIY projects, throwing parties, gardening, acting eco-consciously, exploring Brooklyn and traveling. I got married in June 2014 and am still recapping our wedding planning here.

By day, I work at an environmental nonprofit, and by night, I play music - mostly as a solo keyboard singer songwriter , although I used to play in the garage punk rock band Sexy Neighbors and sometimes play for fun at home with my husband. I also formerly wrote at The Green Phone Booth, where ordinary women become eco-heroes. I belong to multiple food coops. I have too many interests and not enough hours in the week.

I hope you'll have a chance to read around my blog and find something that inspires you. Comments are welcome, as are emails at tocolormegreen (at) gmail (dot) com.
